A musical visit to the British Isles featuring songs, stories and humor of Ireland and Scotland
Jeff Ausfahl spent his childhood in Glasgow, Scotland playing the snare drum in the local bagpipe band. He has a bachelor’s degree in jazz guitar from Berklee College of Music and a master’s in classical guitar from Montclair State University. He has toured America, Europe and the South Pacific extensively.
Jeff’s first banjo job was on Broadway in New York City in the 1980’s, performing with Mickey Rooney. Since then, he has devoted himself to the unique tuning of the Irish banjo and octave mandolin. Jeff has since lost his Scottish accent but not his love for Celtic music!
Jan Ausfahl was originally a trombonist, graduating from Duquesne University with a music education degree. After meeting Jeff in 1984, traditional Celtic instruments and music could be heard at any time in the Ausfahl household!
Together we are Slateford Creek and this is our Celtic Voyage.
This program features banjo, guitar, penny whistle, tambourine, various shakers and rattles, and concertina.
